Blog, news and reviews from Snowdonia Fly Fishing Guides
From July 2012:
Now this is a cracking rod! The 9' 6wt is stunning. The rod is a mid tip action but with a fast recovery. Casting is effortless whether it's a delicate short cast or a haul into the distance, this is definitely a rod that will do all the work.
Its simple and understated dark green colour and burl wood reel seat if finished with Pacific Bay gold coloured guides. The cork handle has no discernible filler and fits the hand nicely.
It's a shame it's a 3 piece rod (wonder why it's called GT4!), I prefer 4 piece rods as they are easier to transport, but that's not a big enough concern to stop me recommending it.
The retail price is very keen and this rod will compete with others twice the price. If you want an all round rod that looks good and will compete with more expensive brands look no further.
2015 - This rod is now discontinued, a real shame as it was one of the best rods I've owned.
