Just a few weeks ago I was whinging about the weather. Well we've had 2 weeks of unending clear skies and temperatures in the mid to high 20s, brilliant! The great thing about this region is that there is almost always a breeze so we don't get the stuffy, energy sapping humidity that is often found elsewhere.
The river levels are at the bottom end of their normal range, but that and the heat has not stopped the fish from feeding. There is plenty, veritable clouds, of insect life, both aquatic and terrestrial and the fish have not been slow in mopping up as they can.
I had a few hours on the river this afternoon and caught a couple of stunning wild brownies, and missed a few more.
So all in all I'm enjoying myself at the moment. Long may it continue!
